The Study on the Elementary School Teachers’ Cognition and Attitude toward the Marine Education Curriculum / 國小教師海洋教育課程認知與態度之研究

碩士 / 臺北市立教育大學 / 課程與教學研究所課程與教學碩士學位在職進修專班 / 98 / The purpose of this study is to realize the elementary school teachers’ cognition and attitude toward the Marine Education in Grade 1-9 Curriculum, and explore the influence of different background elementary school teachers’ cognition and attitude toward the Marine Education Curriculum, and the correlation between the cognition and attitude toward the Marine Education Curriculum.
The method of the study is to adopt the questionnaire survey, and the formal teachers in Taoyuan county public elementary schools are the subjects. The” Questionnaire of Cognition and Attitude toward the Marine Education Curriculum of Elementary School Teachers” is used to the study. There are 521 effective questionnaires from 600 questionnaire samples and the response rate is 86.8%.
Results of this study are concluded as follows:
1. The teachers’ cognition toward the marine education curriculum in elementary schools is above the average.
2. The teachers’ cognition toward the marine education in elementary schools have good quality and were positive, but they have less time and opportunities to engage in marine-related activities. Some teachers for the future development of marine education are still concerns. The willingness of teachers in writing the marine education course plane is low.
3. The background variables influence the teachers’ cognition toward the marine education in elementary schools are the sex, age, teaching experience, in-service position and the hours or activities which teachers participate in the marine education. These factors achieve significant differences.
4. The background variables influence the teachers’ attitude toward the marine education in elementary school are the age, in-service position and the hours or activities which teachers participate in the marine education. These factors achieve significant differences.
5. The relevance of the teachers’ cognition and attitude toward the marine education in elementary school is medium and a significant positive correlation.
Finally, results of this study, the educational administration, school director, teacher education institutions and elementary school teachers are to make recommendations and suggestions. It provides elementary school education and the future implementation of the follow-up of marine research.
