AIDS is incurable disease and so far there is no any available vaccine to prevent HIV infection, therefore the risk of infection only can be reduced through the actions of the “prevention” , work out to awaken people to the AIDS awareness is an urgent matter ever after. In this study, a research on existing form of domestic and international AIDS prevention posters and scholar’s research were made to extract the theoretical basis for the use in practical design. Three different appeals such as emotional appeal, rational appeal and testimonial appeal were used to represent the five main routes of transmission of AIDS as the theme for designing a series of AIDS prevention posters. The focal points of AIDS prevention posters design are to inform its severity, provide appropriate attitudes and behavior change incentives or the solution to overcome the obstacles in preventing AIDS, to change the people’s behavior in related issues. The different methods used to design the posters in the different appealing were based on the different targets to increase the impression and effectiveness of the propaganda’s messages.
