碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 航運管理研究所 / 98 / With the beginning of the direct-sailing across Taiwan-strait for container lines, it means that the direct-sailing across Taiwan-strait for container lines would affect carriers to arrange shipping line and ship, and improve the level of competition among these ports in East Asia. Due to the rejuvenation of the shipping market, the operation type of container port should take elastic strategy. The direct-sailing across Taiwan-strait is worth paying close attention to, it would provide economic benefits and make our commercial port to stable niche in marine market. With keen competition between Taiwan port and China port, the influence on Kaohsiung hub port is worth discussing.
Hence, the main research focuses on the development situation of main port between Taiwan and China to make a thorough inquiry of the change of influence of Kaohsiung hub port. Finally, find out how the direct-sailing across Taiwan-strait makes an impact on Taiwan’s ports operation. Through the questionnaire survey to acquire the expert views of the academia, Port authorities, domestic and international shipping industries, and then use statistical methods and the Entropy method to analyze the variables of the respondent’s degree of identification. In this paper, we present the results of three variables “maintain the overall capacity of ports”, “attract more cross-strait shipping companies to call on” and “increase the density of routes in East Asia” , having the most profound effect on the Taiwan's ports operation after direct-sailing across Taiwan-strait.
