Evaluation of Predicted Overtopping at Seadikes / 海堤越波量預測之評量

碩士 / 逢甲大學 / 水利工程與資源保育研究所 / 99 / This study is to investigate and evaluate the overtopping prediction by using wave runup layer method and some practical formulas. Wave runup layer method include both the computation of wave runup layer velocities method and wave runup layer volume method. The data analyzed in this study are selected from the CLASH datasets which the coastal structures are smooth, impermeable surfaces without retaining wall or berms , under normal incident wave attack.
The prediction of wave runup layer method adopting different runup formulas and coefficient corresponding to varying layer thickness, are compared to that of the overtopping formulas of Owen(1980), Van der Meer(1995), EurOtop(2007) and Goda(2009). The results reveal that the prediction of wave runup layer velocities method using VA is better than that of VA50 , but both results are overestimated. It also shows that the prediction is getting more reasonable as the overtopping increased. In general, the prediction of the wave runup layer volume method is better than that by the wave layer velocity method. In addition, wave runup layer volume using the runup formula of EurOtop(2007) and coefficient of Juang(2010) can be obtained the best results. The practical formula of Goda(2009) can be shown that it can obtain the best prediction among those practial formulas in this study. It can also find that the prediction of Goda’s formula (2009) is better than that of wave runup layer volume method under steeper slope (cot = 1、1.5、2) , but under gentle slope(cot = 3、4、6) the wave runup layer volume method is better. Under larger overtopping (overtopping larger than 10-4 (m3/ s/m)), the prediction of Goda’s formula(2009) is better then that of wave runup layer volume method.
