碩士 / 佛光大學 / 學習與數位科技學系 / 99 / By introducing Boshiamy input method to the fifth and sixth graders, this study tried to solve the problem of students’ Chinese character recognition.
The participants of this action research were the 28 fifth and sixth graders in the researcher’s class. By using the Boshiamy input method practice program, the students involved in a two-semester instruction course. While the first stage focused on the instruction of Boshiamy input method, the second stage focused on the integration of Boshiamy input method into the Chinese language instruction. Research data were collected from observation journals, students’ assignments, quizzes, questionnaires and interviews. Data were further analyzed by qualitative analysis and descriptive statistics. The research findings are as follows:
1. It is acceptable for the fifth and sixth graders to learn Boshiamy input method.
2. As long as the school arranges relevant curricula for the teaching staff, the Boshiamy input method is feasible to be promoted among the fifth and sixth graders.
3. Learning Boshiamy input method enhances students’ motivations to learn Chinese characters and positively reduces the rate of writing wrong characters.
4. Boshiamy input method not only can improve Chinese character recognition of the fifth and sixth graders but also can be integrated into the Chinese language instruction.
