碩士 / 國立高雄應用科技大學 / 電子工程系 / 99 / This paper presents a recognition system for license-number of the fishing vessel entering and leaving seaport. In the system, a video camera is set at the security checkpoint in the fishing port and captures each fishing vessel which is on checking. The basic idea is first to locate the license-number area by using vertical-edge detection. Then, the license-number needs to make skew correction by finding the angle between the top of the characters in order to segment each license character through the vertical projection. Finally, each character is identified by its features. Experimental results show that the proposed system can substantially recognize the license-number of the fishing vessel entering and leaving seaport slowly.
