碩士 / 國立高雄應用科技大學 / 觀光與餐旅管理系 / 99 / The research focuses on the relationship between personality traits, wellness lifestyle and learning travel of independent travelers. In recent years, Taiwanese gradually connects with the international society and the global views are way broader. This involves the influence of the styles and types how Taiwanese travel. The fact is that the number of independent travelers is increasing and has become a trend. On account of this, the research will put emphasis on the relevant characteristics of independent travelers and hope to activate this market segmentation. The research scope and objects were experienced independent travelers. The questionnaires surveyed between December, 2010 and January, 2011. There were two approaches to collect the samples, which were paper and internet questionnaires, and 361 valid questionnaires were returned. Factor Analysis, Cluster Analysis, and Structural Equation Model were used to check the reliability and validity of this research. After personality trait scale was analyzed by the confirmatory factor analysis, Big Five Personality Traits brought by Costa & McCrae was verified, which are 「Neuroticism」、「Extraversion」、「Openness」、「Agreeableness」and「Conscientiousness」. Lastly, SEM analysis was used to check the goodness of fit indices of hypotheses. The results showed significant effects of personality traits toward wellness lifestyle and learning travel, significant effects of wellness lifestyle toward learning travel, and partial mediating effects of wellness lifestyle toward personality traits and learning travel.
