Coast guards have to take turns on duty in patrol ship day and night. During their tours, they’re under pressure because of the bad environment and unexpected danger. Especially they need to deal with Chinese fishermen carefully to avoid tense politics between Taiwan and China. Compared to Offshore Flotilla Taiwan, Offshore Flotilla Kinmen are under much more pressure due to the work requirements. Normal workers can expect the coming job contents, but offshore Flotilla Kinmen face unexpected work pressure. Due to the work specialty, the thesis is to study and understand their work pressure source and how to release pressure according to the questionnaires and related documents.
After studying related documents, journals and theses and discussing with professor, we’ll send out 118pcs questionnaires and retrieve 100pcs of them. From the SPSS analysis, the main pressure is from work system, for instance, higher-position and coast guard on sea duty have more pressure. The adjustment is not so much different based on the personal status, such as age, marriage, education level, seniority and job title, Only age makes some different adjustments, for example, elder people prefer to read, sleep, chat and meet with friends. But younger people prefer to jog, swim, and exercise.
This analysis shows that adjusted work system and completed leisure equipments will help to adjust pressure. Once shorten the sea duty time, more rest time will be increased, in the meantime, buying leisure equipments also help to release pressure.
