碩士 / 國立中興大學 / 國際政治研究所 / 99 / Economic Zone on the West Side of Taiwan Strait refers to the Taiwan Straits, Fujian body, the face of Taiwan, one of China seven economic blocks. Land area of about 33 million square kilometers and a population about 9200 people, in addition to the scope of Fujian, including Zhejiang, Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces, it is a zone of exchanges and cooperation between people on both sides.
China is currently promoting “Economic Zone on the West Side of Taiwan Strait”. There are two main ideas. A regional economic integration: the cross-strait economic integration as a whole unit, to be a zone of exchanges and cooperation between people on both sides, and hopes to become the economic center of Asia-Pacific region; Second, economic united front: Win over Taiwan-funded enterprises with many incentives, bringing the overall development of the Economic Zone on the West Side of Taiwan Strait, but also to Taiwan-funded enterprises more dependent on foreign-funded enterprises, indirectly affect Taiwan''s industrial development.
For Taiwan, Economic Zone on the West Side of Taiwan Strait can use to enhance Taiwan''s financial sector development, the establishment of Hercynian financial zone; long-term use of past industrial development resources and accumulated experience to build Hercynian industrial zone; Furthermore, free trade as a starting point, and finally into the “common market” so that the two sides of the free flow of factors of production, and accelerate Exchange and cooperation after the signing of the ECFA, Economic Zone on the West Side of Taiwan Strait and Taiwan.
For future cross-strait exchanges, made several recommendations: First, continue to strengthen the system of cross-strait economic cooperation and consultation; Second, accelerate the relationship of Taiwan''s industrial and Economic Zone on the West Side of Taiwan Strait; Third, Exclude political ideology and political interference.
