A study of the Effects of the Adaptation and Retention on Overseas Expatriate Employees from Parent Company / 台灣母公司派駐海外子公司人員海外適應性對派駐留任之影響

碩士 / 國立彰化師範大學 / 企業管理學系國際企業經營管理 / 99 / In recent years, Taiwan’s economy grows rapidly; however, the growing human resource cost, the unstable political situation, and the globalization trend, seem to make “overseas investment” a new choice under all of these conditions. As a result, the managements of overseas expatriate employees become a very important issue. In domestic reference, only few studies of retention on overseas expatriate employees could be found. Therefore, this study explored the different factors to affect the retention comments of overseas expatriate employee.
The company’s organization, working environment, benefits, bonus, and the feature of the task are all the factors that affect overseas expatriate employees’ performance and retention commitment. How to enhance the adaptation, performance, and retention for overseas expatriate employees is the difficult problem to transnational company. This study explored the effects of the adaptation and retention on overseas expatriate employees by the company’s organization, personal factors, motherland environment, and the factor of oversea tasks. In addition, we took the employees from one of the domestic company, who have been assigned to China, Thailand and Vietnam at the same time as the study subject. Moreover, this study explored the mediating effect of overseas adaptation and expatriate retention commitment.
