碩士 / 國立宜蘭大學 / 自然資源學系碩士班 / 99 / For explorting adaptability of Casuarina coastal windbreak, we investigated composition and structure of the Casuarina coastal windbreak established in 1976 in Nao-Oa Town, YiLan County, and intended to analyse the mechanism with the CRS concept of species adaptive strategies. The results showed the IVI value of Leucaena leucocephala in the stand were 41.1 %, followed by Casuarina spp. 15.4%. Leucaena leucocephala have been dominant in existing windbreak that mostly in the windbreak close to the inland, has high tree density, but the average DBH and height were only 4.8 cm and 4.4 m, The average DBH and height of Casuarina trees that only scatterd in windbreak close to seaside were 22.5 cm and 7.9 m, and the existing trees most were breakage. Mortality of Leucaena leucocephala were 11.38%,and Casuarina spp.were 10.26% after disturbance by the strong typhoon on September ,2008. In 2009, no typhoon disturbance ocurred, the mortality of Leucaena leucocephala were still 11.68% while Casuarina spp. were only 2.56%. Leucaena leucocephala can be regenerated by lots of seeds and by sprouting. Casuarina trees has produced seeds, but the seedlings could not successfully survive that showed Casuarina spp. and Leucaena leucocephala had different adaptation type . Through CSR analysis by life characters, Leucaena leucocephala had the lower value of growth characteristic of C strategy ,and the higher value of adaptability characteristic of S strategy and reproduction characteristic of R strategy that can occupy rapidly in the poor habitat; Casuarina spp. expressed well balanced for each strategy and close to strategy of CSR type, that can survive in the habitat with admissible resource and disturbance, but is not effective to reestablish.
