碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 輪機工程研究所 / 98 / Voltage sag that is a short-duration reduction in rms voltage is usually caused by the starting of large or grouping motors in shipboard electric power systems and easily causes sensitive loads such as computers, process control devices and adjustable speed driver to misoperate or malfunction. Voltage variations had been specified in the class society’s rule, meanwhile the transient voltage variation has been recommended to be considered in ship electrical system design. To effectively assess the voltage sags in shipboards due to motor starting, a set of analysis model is proposed in this thesis. A mathematical model of the voltage sags is derived and validated by using the measurements to determine permissible relationship between motor and generator capacities. The results have indicated that the proposed method could effectively analyze the voltage sag problem and assist engineers in deciding suitable starting designs for motors.
