碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 海事資訊科技研究所 / 99 / This study assesses the root causes of submarine’s casualties, are surveyed with respect to the quantity and types of submarine’s casualties from year 1900 to 2009. By the tool of statistical software SPSS 17.0 to induce the casualties trend and analyse with some official submarine’s casualty investigation report.
The implementation result demonstrates the main types of submarine’s casualties are collision, flooding and foundering, fire and explosion etc., even the highly technical nuclear submarine can not preventing the faulty operation by human errors.To reinforce the training of submariner and all underwater vehicle operators, make sure every crew realize one of the root cause of submarine’s casualties is human error, to avoid human error is very important way to prevent the disaster effectively.
The functions of the underwater vehicle were developed in many fields like tourism and ocean research in recent decades, the increasing in underwater vehicle’s number will make the possibility of casualty rise as well. Considering of the highly developed submarine’s conceal technology, the government shall consider to establish an agreement like Aviation Identification Zone with other countries who own submarine too, to prevent the possible underwater collision. The analyse of this study can contribute to the safety of underwater traffic.
