碩士 / 國立高雄第一科技大學 / 電腦與通訊工程研究所 / 99 / In this thesis, we propose a new handover scheme from a navigation perspective, where we assume the mobile stations have GPS navigation with route calculation and directions of the route to take. According to the calculated route, we can select the target base station which can tolerates handover delay and provides longest service time. On the timing to trigger the handover, we propose using the timing when the received signal strength difference between the original and the new service base stations is minimized. Our numerical results show that the proposed handover scheme performs better than existing schemes with respect to the number of handovers.
