Research on Participation Motivation and Leisure Benefits of Bikers - A Case Study of West Side Harbor Line Bike Path in Kaohsiung City / 自行車騎乘者參與動機與休閒效益之研究-以高雄市西臨港線自行車道為例

碩士 / 國立屏東教育大學 / 生態休閒教育教學碩士學位學程 / 99 / The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between participation motivation and leisure benefit of bikers in West Side Harbor Line Bike Path in Kaohsiung City.Besides, the impact of different background variables of the participation motivation and leisure benefit was also probed.This study adopted questionnaire survey. Questionnaire consisted of “Scale of participation motivation”and “Scale of leisure benefit” .The participants were the Biker in West Side Harbor Line Bike Path and they were all above 16 years old. Five hundred questionnaires were sent out and there were 498 valid responses. The data processing tool was the through SPSS 12.0 For Windows, along with the descriptive statistics, item analysis, explanatory factor analysis,single factor multivariate analysis (one-way MANOVA), Scheffe’s method and Pearson’s product-moment correlation,and the recearch finally discovers that:
1. The majority of biker was male, the age just distributed around 20-49 years old; most marriage statuses were unmarried. For the education level , college/university constitute was the majority.The occupation distribution mainly acted as the student, service industry, the military personnel, public servant. For the range of average monthly income ,the most common was between $20,001~$40,000. The most riding companion were family; Kaohsiung City was the place where most bikers lived in.
2. The first three participation motivations of the bikers were respectively for relax, or spiritual pleasure and to enjoy the lifestyles of health and sustainability, or to relieve stress and tension.The first three leisure benefits were respectively to promote the metabolism to maintain good health, or to add amenities to make people feel good, or to improve cardiovascular fitness promotion.
3. As for the participation motivation, the respective researching factors on the age, marriage, the education level, occupation, most riding companion and the place they lived all achieved the significance statistically.
4. As for the leisure benefit, the respective researching factors on the age, the education level, the occupation, monthly payroll, most riding companion and the most place they lived all achieved the significance statistically.
5. The participation motivation and leisure benefit of bikers were positively-related significantly.
