碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 99 / Three experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of dietary levels of raw and extract of Chinese herb Atractylodes chinensis DC. on growth performance, body composition, and non-specific immunoresponse of Asian sea bass, Lates calcarifer.
Asian sea bass with initial weight of 1.96 ± 0.04g fed diet supplemented with 0, 5, 10 and 20g/kg of raw A. chinensis for four weeks. There were no significant effects on SGR and WG. HSI was higher in the fish fed with the diet containing 10 and 20g/kg raw herb and was significantly lower in the 5 g/kg treatment. The fish fed diet with 10 g/kg raw A. chinensis showed significantly higher FCR. In experiment II, fish with initial weight of 1.98 ± 0.04g fed the diet containing A. chinensis extract has no effects on SGR, WG, FCR and HSI. Survival and muscle proximate analysis of fish has no significant differences in both experiments. 56.27 ± 11.45g sih were fed diets with 1% raw, extracted and mixture of equal volume of raw and extracted herb for four weeks in experiment III. Activity of respiratory burst of headkidney leukocyte and SOD of liver were enhanced after one and two weeks, then decreased to the same level with control group after three weeks. Activity of respiratory burst was lower than that of control group after four weeks feeding. Phagocytic rate has been stimulated only in the third week and there was no effect on phagocytic index during experiment. HSI in all treatments were significantly higher than that of control group.
