A study of the storm surge effect on / 颱風暴潮對鹽寮海灘地形變動

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 河海工程學系 / 99 / The purpose of this study is to investigate the storm surge effect on topographic change at Yan-Liao beach. The data from topographic surveying between 2004 and 2010 in Yan-Liao beach and marine meteorological data were collected and analyzed. The change of Yan-Liao beach topography is affected significantly by the 2nd kind of typhoon track which defined by Central Weather Bureau. The above track is further subdivided into two parts, one induced the land terrain erosion and sea terrain accretion, the amount of sediment on these two terrains is approximately equal. Another one induced both the land terrain and sea terrain erosion.
The result of this study shows that storm surge is the main effect of topographic change at Yan-Liao beach. The amount of erosion or accretion by topographic changes and 0m coastal contour line changes are related to the track of typhoon, wave conditions (wave height, period and wave direction) and local bathymetry characteristics before the typhoon. In addition, bed load and wave conditions at Yan-Liao seas are applied to calculate Shields number and Ursell number, one can determined the dominant direction of sediment transport is on-offshore. It shows that the changes of coastal topography at Yan-Liao beach influenced by local bathymetry, monsoon, typhoon waves.
