碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 海洋環境資訊學系 / 99 / Abstract
Taiwan is an island country, where the ocean remarkably affects the daily life of people. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of applying basic concept of marine education in teaching activity on learning marine knowledge for pupils. The learning performance of pupils was also explored by various teaching methods. Sixty students at the fifth grader, from two classes of the elementary school, were determined. As the experimental group, 30 students were instructed by multiple teaching methods with researcher-designed learning assessment tools of basic marine education concept. The other 30 students were taught traditionally by formal lecture as the control group. The results showed that the pupils had understood fair marine environment and conservation, but poor marine knowledge before the teaching of basic marine education concept in practice. After the conceptual teaching had been applied, the learning of both knowledge and conservation was further promoted. However, the learning performance of multiple teaching methods was better than that of lecture ones.
