碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 通訊與導航工程學系 / 99 / Aimed at answering the demand of safe navigation, the purpose of this thesis is to establish a clear three-dimensional maritime navigation display system, which use international standard electronic navigational chart (S57 ENC) and GPS (Global Positioning System) positioning to improve the safety of navigation. The location for testing and demonstration of this system is around the Keelung Harbor. This three-dimensional display system is developed using OpenGL functions and Java language. Besides S57 ENCs, digital terrain model (DTM) data is also integrated and rendered with terrain texture and light to provide more realistic view of the land area.
The system provides parameter settings for user control and three display modes, including own ship mode, underwater vehicle mode, as well as one that simultaneously shows own ship and its remotely controlled underwater vehicle. The display of a depth scale and compass makes the view more intuitive for users to identify the depth and orientation information around own ship. The displayed night navigation lights make this clear three-dimensional display system further close to the goal of aiding navigation, and making the sailing more smooth and safe.
