A Cognitive Analysis of Main Terms under Voyagecharter Negotiation Stages / 論程傭船契約協商階段主要約款之認知分析

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 99 / Recently, the bulk shipping market is especially facing strongly change in the shipping market. In the maritime business, the concluding of charter party is usually dealing with the voyage charter chartering. Since the uncertain of shipping industry, breaching or canceling the contract may be occurred. Here may be implied the importance of main terms under voyage charter negotiation stages. Therefore, according to the results of literature reviews and in-depth interviews, this research concludes the key influential factors of the main terms under voyageharter negotiation stages for bulk shipping corporations, to discuss these factors by questionnaire. In order to understand the key factors of voyage charter under negotiation stages, this research analyzed the importance of key factors which come from the main terms of voyage charter under negotiation stages by using the method of Modified Delphi and meanwhile, clarified the causal relationship among each key factor by using the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL). Lastly, this research analyzed the alternative portfolio of voyage charter by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The findings of this research are as followings:
1.To find the importance of main terms under voyagecharter negotiations by using the method of Modified Delphi to analyse the key factors, concerning the overall evaluation criteria, “Freight and payment terms” is the most important factor, followed by “Laycan”, “Cargo type and quantity”, “Charterer” and “Ship particulars and equipments”.
2.To find the relevance of main terms under voyagecharter negotiations, using DEMATEL, the relevance of key factors, concerning the overall criteria, “Charterer” is the most important on the overall influential degree, followed by “Shipowner” and “Freight and payment terms”. The main influential factor is “Cargo type and quantity”, and followed by “Ship particulars and equipments” and “Freight and payment terms”. Additionally, the main received influenced factor is “Laytime”, and followed by “Laydays” and “Charterer”.
3.To find the preference of parties who chosen the alternative between different chartering markets, using AHP to analyse the chartering alternatives, “short-term voyage charter” is the main choice under the shipowner market; the alternative of the “contract of affreightment” is the main choice under the charterer market.
The results of this study will be helpful for dry bulk shipping company in negotiating main terms under voyage charter.
