The aim of this research is to provide supplementary materials as a reference for primary and secondary school teachers when infusing marine education into their curriculum.
First, group members organized and constructed the basic structure of the marine supplementary materials by the methods of contents analysis and questionnaire investigation. Second, group members took their parts writing the first version according to the basic structure. Each member wrote some chapters by implement the books, websites, literature papers about marine content. After the first version were finished, it was evaluated by the experts. The book was then be revised according to the advices of the experts .
A total of sixteen chapters were completed includes “Basic marine concepts”, “Marine topography”, “Sea water“, “Marine meteorology”, ”Marine ecology”, “Marine primary producers”, ”Marine invertebrates”, “Marine vertebrates”, ”Marine leisure activities”, “Marine laws and policy”. ”Marine resource industry”, “Marine transportation”, “Marine history’ “, “Marine literature and arts”, ”Marine resource industry”, “Marine beliefs and customs” and also, “Marine environmental protection”.
This research provides a whole supplementary materials for primary and secondary school teachers in marine education. The whole process can be a good example for those who care about marine education and authors for writing instructional materials.
