A Study to Detect the Stand ChangeIn Yunlin Coast Forest / 四湖海岸林林分變遷之研究

碩士 / 臺灣大學 / 森林環境暨資源學研究所 / 99 / Typhoons and seasonal monsoons bring the salt spittle and dropsy in stands, difficult to regenerate and easy to age, Casuarinaceae equisetifolia L. not only generate gaps but also decrease the effect of wind break in the west Taiwan coastal forests. This research investigated the landcover change of the coastal forests by the aerial photos and the satellite images in Yunlin. The aerial photos, photographed between 1995 and 2004, and in 2006, were classified into 5 landuse types. The layers were overlaid and the landscape index analysis was applied to detect the transitions. According to the result, Casuarinaceae equisetifolia L. decreased the area to 14.7 ha and the number of gaps increased 173 spots in 8.0 ha. The broadleaf replaced Casuarinaceae equisetifolia L.. In order to understand the stand changes, we got the digital number of red and NIR band in Casuarinaceae equisetifolia L. and broadleaf forest areas to detect the vegetation spectrum difference by the bi-spectrum images. The result showed that the original DN is too disorganized to highlight the differces among the vegetation; however, the corrected one presented the seasonl differences conspitously. From an inventory of vascular plants, a total of 28 families, 39 genera and 43 spcies were recorded in the study area. Compared with the other species in the area, Passiflora suberosa Linn., Litsea glutinosa (Lour.) C. B. Rob. and Bidens pilosa L. var. radiata Sch. were the species posses the higher frequency. In conclusion, the appliance of the Remote Sensing measurement technology enables the researchers to moniter the vast area of the landcover changes, and to establish a more complet coastal monitor system to manage the west Taiwanese coastal forest.
