碩士 / 國立臺灣藝術大學 / 表演藝術碩士班 / 99 / Traditional Chinese Opera is a treasure within Chinese culture. It has important effects on the development of modern drama. However, through evolution of times, transition between societies, the diversification of recreational activities and new aesthetic standards following with newfangled thinking logic of young audiences, Traditional Chinese Opera is no more the main stream of recent performing arts. In order to attract audiences of new generations, variations has become the priority for making a breakthrough in adverse circumstances. If we plan to develop Children’s Traditional Chinese Opera, to have the art rooted in kids’ minds and to cultivate children’s abilities to appreciate the art, we will have to break through the tradition, conducting new creations with concepts of children’s theatre. Therefore, we can increase the amount of people enjoying children’s theatre, and can look forward to its bright future.
The article mainly focuses about the features of “The Dragon King versus Nezha” through child’s point of view, with specialties of children’s theatre. The researcher first discusses the childishness, literariness, education, entertainment and theatricality of the text, followed by the next step, researching on performing features of the songs, singing and speaking skills, civil and martial scenes. Visual arts of martial arts, stage properties, modeling of characters and dance are also issues included in this article. Views in the research have explained the cultivation and behavior that should be possessed in children’s theatre.
