Modeling and Optimization of Microalgae Cultivation in Fed-batch Reactors / 饋料批式養殖微藻之建模與最佳化

碩士 / 國立臺灣科技大學 / 化學工程系 / 99 / There are vigorous research initiatives aimed at developing alternative renewable and potentially carbon neutral biofuels as alternative energy resources. Microalgae is a very promising biofuel. This research aims to produce biodiesel from lipid in microalgae. Growth and oil production rates are evaluated as a function of carbon and nitrogen sources concentration. It is found that nitrogen has a major role in controlling the productivity of microalgae.
First, we find optimal parameters by using Genetic Algorithm, and then use sensitivity analysis to find the most sensitive of the parameters, re-do the estimate, which aims to reduce computing time.
The optimization procedure, applying Genetic Algorithm to fed-batch mode, based on optimization of its distribution of the feed flow rate to the highest oil yield of algae.
Finally, this dissertation introduces a multi-objective optimization technique to discuss the fewest amount of the glucose feed and the highest amount of algae oil production. And multi-objective problem turn into a single objective problem, the optimal solution as the problem of estimating expectations.
