Corporate Social Responsibility and Green Logistics:The Comparison of Taiwanese and Foreign Carriers’ Perspectives / 企業社會責任與綠色物流:台灣與外商海運業者觀點之比較

Humanity must take steps to assure that green consumption is thriving in developing and developed countries. Consumers should care not only for their safety and health but also for reduce their impact on the environment. The definition of green logistics is to reduce environmental damage by using logistics to make full use of available resources. This research studies how corporate social responsibility and green logistics affect corporate image and organization performance. It also compares the viewpoints among different transportation companies. This research concluded that corporate social responsibility and green logistics are closely bonded. The behavior of green logistics is to save energy and make good use of resources: implementing green logistics is good for a corporate image but when it comes to financial performance, there is no clear data. A mutual understanding exists that implementing green logistics is helpful for employees to cultivate the habit of energy saving.
This research found out foreign shippers provide related training regarding green logistics, but only two out of four local shippers provide this valuable training resource. It could be concluded that whether providing green logistics is highly related to the degree of internationalization and company size.
