A Study of the Migratory Motives and Residential Satisfaction of the inhabitants in Danhai New Town / 淡海新市鎮居民遷移動機與其居住滿意度之研究

between the development effects and the planning expectation for a long time.
Nevertheless, in recent years, Danhai New Town shows a new style and feature
because the collective of housing communities appear on this broad and developing
land. According to the Census Administration statistical data, the population of
Danhai New Town has increased dramatically since 2007 due to the government’s
policies and the real estate recovery. Besides, the growth of population is a
cornerstone because it influences how to develop the area. When the population has
been increasing, the infrastructure around the region will start to flourish rapidly;
therefore, the population plays an important role in the development of Danhai New
Town. The investigate objects of this study are the inhabitants of Danhai New Town. In this case, we will understand the migratory motives of the inhabitants in Danhai
New Town and deeply discuss the relationship between the residential satisfaction and
the re-migration propensity by the questionnaire survey method.
The results of the study are as follows: (1) From the questionnaire, the migration
motives of the interviewees searches for the better living environment and buying new
houses.(2) Concerning the aspect of the residential satisfaction,for the interviewees,
the degree of satisfied is totally higher than unsatisfied in the living conditions. If we
analyze deeply, the interviewees are most satisfied with the natural environment and
interior housing circumstance. However, the interviewees feel least satisfied with the
medical services, commerce, and shopping environment. (3) From the analysis of the
re-migration propensity, 19.2 percent of the interviewees have planned to move
because of the inconvenient transportation, lack of the medical services, commerce
and shopping environment. (4) There are obviously related in satisfaction of
residential environment and re-migration propensity; for example, the more
dissatisfaction the interviewees feel in the residential environment, the higher
re-migration propensity they have.
