Purpose: the purpose of the study was to evaluate the usefulness of
physiological indices in prediction of 1000M and 2000M rowing
performance on rowing ergometer. Method: the relationship between
physiological variables and 1000M, 2000M rowing performance were
evaluated by using Pearson correlation coefficient. Variables with
correlation coefficient higher than .75 were entered into step-wise multiple
regression equation. The significant level was set at α= .05. Results: The
peak of blood lactate was found within the first minute, so that the
happened timing may be appeared during the process of matches. The
relationship between the rowing sport indoor machine and player
physiological background are arrived with middle to high relationship. For
the maximal oxygen uptake, the test time and average watt owned middle
to high relation. For others, the results are showed lower relation. In
addition, most of the factors are shower lower relationship, and the 1RM
results are show meddle to high relation for the Wingate Anaerobic Test.
Age is one of the main factors for the decrease of the maximal oxygen
uptake and the increase of the test time. Conclusion: The maximal oxygen
uptake, ventilation and physiological background play significant roles for
the test results, and these also became the indicators for the training and
talent selection.
