A study of human resources management issues after the business environment change of Taiwanese firms in China. / 台商海外原投資地環境變遷之人力資源議題探討

碩士 / 國立雲林科技大學 / 企業管理系碩士班 / 99 / Low labor cost is the major consideration for Taiwanese firms to invest in China. Due to dramatic economic growth of China for recent years, Chinese government gradually ends preferential treatments of tax. Provincial governments of China have also raised the minimum wage standard. Cheap labor of The World Factory is merely to be seen in the future. As the development of coastal cities now is getting completed, the governments start to focus on the development of western regions. Since there are more work opportunities in inland areas, now people in west areas do not move to the coastal cities for seeking job anymore. That cause the problem of lacking labor in the coastal areas. Case study was adopted in this study as the research method. This study combined literatures and interviews, in order to clarify the cause of the labor shortage, and how Taiwanese firms could do under the entire environmental trend. The main conclusions are listed below:
1. Labor shortage in coastal areas and a comprehensive salary hike will become normality in near future.
2. Although labor shortage is a problem, the high turnover and low loyalty is the major crisis.
3. Industrial upgrading is the way to avoid elimination for Taiwanese companies in Mainland.
4. An enterprise should always be aware of environmental trend and prepare in advance.
5. The decision of moving plants had to motherland should be estimated carefully.
