A research on the plafonds of Taipei Confucius Temple / 台北孔廟大成殿藻井之研究

碩士 / 中國科技大學 / 建築研究所 / 100 / The researches on traditional “plafonds” were mostly emphasized on the space and the comparison of craftsman’s school. However, the connection of the two and the design style among the craftsmen lacked systematic analysis. Furthermore, there are not many studies about the style, unit, and structure of the plafonds in Taiwan and the relationship between “Song’s State Building Standards" and Great China System.
This research, by literature material and field research, investigates the background and the influence of Dachen Hall plafonds of Taipei Confucius Temple. First of all, the investigation record of Dachen Hall plafonds of Taipei Confucius Temple and the drawings were analyzed to figure out the style structure and unit structure of Dachen Hall plafonds. Also, with the plafonds construction rules in Song’s State Building Standards, this study figures out the source relationship between Dachen Hall plafonds and Great China System. Then, compare it with other plafonds cases in Taiwan to discuss the interaction.
This study applies BIM- Building Information Modeling- through two digitalized tools: Revit and SketchUp, stimulate the digital archive model of Dachen Hall plafonds of Taipei Confucius Temple wood unit components and structure, and then compare the differences and advantages of both in practice.

The research results find out that:
1. The traditional architecture in Taiwan is deeply influenced by that in south Min and East Canton. After Wang Yi-Sun, the craftsman from Quanzhou Shidi School, came to Taiwan, Shidi School has established an important foundation and influence on plafonds construction. Also, the plafonds by Taiwan great carpenter Chen Ying-Bin is in developing stage. They have significant influence on Taiwan plafonds.
2. Dachen Hall plafonds of Taipei Confucius Temple presents the 3D model of the wood component of the plafonds with digital record BIM concept. The wood unit components were numbered and stimulate the assembly of the plafonds as well as the connection among wood unit components. Moreover, the advantages and disadvantages of two digital tools: Revit and SketchUP were being further discussed and analysis during the research progress.

Besides, this study proposes the following three issues for deeper discussion:
1 The detail analysis of Dachen Hall plafonds wood components and the professional terms can have deeper discussion and investigation, and then compare with the source of Song’s State Building Standards.
2. Establish complete investigation statistics and data for Taiwan plafonds s. Also, the detail can be more specifically compared and analyzed with cases from China
3. As for BIM digital application and issues, further discussion and data application analysis can follow the current result of this study.
