碩士 / 清雲科技大學 / 國際企業管理研究所 / 100 / The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the performance of Taiwan’s banking industry, after its business developing the Internet banking services.
During the 1990’s, the Internet banking system has become the transaction pattern between clients and banks. In 2000, according to The Economics that Internet banking system only up to 1% of the bank operating cost, which can make the improvement of cost-down.
In 2008, Sub-prime mortgage financial crisis and the derivatives have leaded the result of global financial tsunami. Many major financial institutions have claimed bankruptcy or being taken-over by the government. In Taiwan, banks and other related financial institutions have also suffered from the global financial tsunami inevitability. It has forced the local banks rearranging the proportion of asset portfolio and strategy, furthermore, to value the client’s rights and interests more than ever. Due to the characteristics of low cost, convenient and the 24 hours security guarantees services, the Internet banking system has become the most important sub-area for every financial institution on their operation and development.
The research databases mainly come from Central Bank of Taiwan, Banking of FSC, TEJ, 26 banks and various banks annual reports from 2008 to 2011. The thesis has mainly applied on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to calculating the efficiency rate of Input and Output. Furthermore, to utilize the statistic tools of efficiency analysis ,
Return to scale analysis, Slack variable analysis and Sensitivity analysis for comparing different banks strengths and weakness. Inclusion, the thesis is hoping to discuss the efficiency performance of Internet-banking on banks.
