碩士 / 大葉大學 / 工學院碩士在職專班 / 100 / The principal object of this study is to investigate the implication of environmental education in Hayao Miyazaki’s animation movies by means of the film analyses of “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea” to obtain critical elements in connection with environmental education which are further combined with the course outlines for environmental education & marine education issued by the Ministry of Education in 2008 to demonstrate video-based extensive teaching. The extensive teaching based on experiment research features third-grade students as subjects, self-compiled teaching materials, video-based extensive teaching (experimental group) and video show teaching (control group).
The tools and methods for statistic analyses used in the study are: self-compiled questionnaire for effects of video-based environmental education & teaching on third-grade students; descriptive statistics; paired-sample t Test; independent sample t Test. The conclusions on the basis animation analyses and the effects of video-based extensive teaching are as follows:
“Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea” can be combined with agenda in the 2008 course outline for environmental education such as biodiversity, global warming, marine pollution and green consumption; “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea” can be combined with the educational context in the 2008 course outline for marine education to approach sea, know sea and love sea; Video-based extensive teaching is superior to video show teaching; The significant difference due to video-based extensive teaching can be found in environmental conception, environmental recognition and environmental action strategy.
