Abstract
Although the world economic recovery, the pace of continuous improvement and the fundamentals of an optimistic, global shipping market, the overall trade volume does not shrink, but the potential crisis in the European debt crisis, international trade protection policies and the existing transportation capacity out of the market rate is still too slow affect the overall freight growth rate and the total supply of transport capacity. For international container industry, the market is very promising, but the increasingly fierce competition, currently on the market has reached a mature industry is how the existing business model to be innovative to attract consumers want to use services, avoid intense price competition, to build a unique competitive advantage, business thinking and
strategy layout is quite critical
In this study, the case study method, mainly based on industry relevant background information; study first the industrial and beg into explore the competitive environment of the case company Yang Ming Marine Transport, and then import the complete strategic planning process in order to obtain appropriate conclusions to view its viable competitive strategy. Reference of secondary data include:the domestic industry information data﹐the case companies’annual reports﹐news﹐newspaper analysis﹐journals information﹐professional website databases﹒ The
following conclusions for public reference﹕
Yang Ming Marine Transport internal environmental assessment elements: a complete information system deployment, mainly container shipping, bulk shipping, supplemented with, the diversification of operations, human resources generally have higher education, the world's largest shipping alliance members across the public welfare, environmental protection, corporate social responsibility and the first domestic RFID technology will be applied to shipping companies for container transport services ; external environmental assessment elements: the fleet size and transportation capacity a lot of progress, providing container species with a distinct disadvantage, the operation of the shipping route is not as good as Evergreen, operating not near the sea routes, such as Wan Hai
and can not raise market share.
Yang Ming Marine Transport viable competitive strategy: continue to promote flexible alliances operating strategies; positive integration of cross-strait routes; the development of new markets; route rationalization;
strictly controls the operation of safety and quality.
