碩士 / 崑山科技大學 / 材料工程研究所 / 100 / In this study, a method has been designed for making spherical or cylindrical microencapsulation of activated carbons(AC)、zeolites(Zeo)、porphyritic andesites(PA)、marbles(Ma) particles from powder for use in the removal of metabolic wastes and/or toxins(i.e. ammonia or nitrite ions)from fish tank water. This bench-scale method was able to make better uniformity in particle size, and at a higher production rate. The material properties such as particle size and electromicroscopy of surface morphology were characterized. The performance characteristics of these self-prepared particles were also evaluated against the commercially available adsorbent particles. The effect of added mass of alginic acid in these particles on the adsorptive capacity of selected ammonia or nitrite ions was proved to be promotive, and the alginate-binded layer of these particles could enhance the adsorptive capacity of solute ions.
