The Study of Resident's Cognition on Tourism Impacts of Festivals:A Case of Mituo Milkfish Cultural Festival / 居民對節慶活動觀光衝擊認知之研究-以彌陀虱目魚文化節為例

碩士 / 康寧大學 / 休閒管理研究所 / 100 / With the advent of the age of globalization, in 2004, the Council for Cultural Affairs proposed the important policy of “overall community construction,” in which the integration of local cultural specialties and community consciousness is used to construct a community, in order to enhance the cohesion and a sense of local identity among residents. In 2009, the policy of “one township, one specialty” was proposed, in which local special resources are integrated with local industrial culture, to hold local specialty and industry festivals of different forms and characteristics. The integration of agricultural and fishery specialties and local festivals allows for culture to motivate the economy, combining “culture, industry, tourism,” achieving the dual objectives of “culturalizing industry, industrializing culture,” in order to enhance local reputations and invigorate the local economy.
This study used Mituo Milkfish Festival as an example, and conducted literature review and a questionnaire survey on 420 Mituo District residents, in order to provide an in-depth discussion on the impact and influence of industrial festivals on local residents. The research results are shown as follows:
1. Most residents have participated in the Milkfish Festival activities between 1 and 3 times, and followed by 4 to 6 times.
2. The residents believe that there are more positive than negative impacts of tourism, and have the highest degree of identification with “positive cognition of social and culture impact”; lowest degree of identification with “negative cognition of environment impact.”
3. There are significant effects of age of residents with different demographic variables on “negative cognition of environment impact,” occupation on “positive cognition of social and culture impact,” village of residence on “negative cognition of environment impact,” village of residence on “positive cognition of social and culture impact,” village of residence on “positive cognition of environment impact,” time of residence on “negative cognition of environment impact,” and education on “positive cognition of social and culture impact.”
Finally, the results of this study are analyzed and discussed, and research contributions and practical suggestions are provided for related departments and future studies.
