The Relationship between Family Leisure Satisfaction, Parent-child Dependence and Life Satisfaction among Children of Recent Immigrants on Taiwan Off-Shore Islands-A Case Study in Kinmen / 台灣離島地區新移民子女家庭休閒滿意度、親子依附與生活滿意度關係之研究─以金門地區為例

碩士 / 銘傳大學 / 觀光事業學系碩士在職專班 / 100 / This study investigated the relationship among family leisure satisfaction, parent-child dependence, and life satisfaction. Data were obtained from a questionnaire survey on both children of recent immigrants and general students studying in the fifth-grade or sixth-grade of elementary school in Kinmen. A total of 368 copies of the questionnaire were distributed during Apr 25, 2011 and May 25, 2011. 341 valid responses were collected. Data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 to obtain the following findings: (1) Generally, children of recent immigrants had lower “family leisure satisfaction” and “parent-child dependence” but higher “life satisfaction” than general students. (2) Generally, girl students and fifth-grade students had higher “family leisure satisfaction”, “parent-child dependence”, and “life satisfaction” than their counterparts. (3) The difference between children of recent immigrants and general students was significant in the dimension of “family leisure satisfaction” and the sub-dimensions of “general leisure activities” and “special leisure activities”. (4) A significant difference in “general leisure activities” of the “family leisure satisfaction” dimension was observed between genders and grades. (5) The difference between grades was significant in “communication” and “trust” of the “parent-child dependence” dimension. (6) A significant difference in “alienation” of the “parent-child dependence” dimension was observed between nationalities and genders. (7) The difference in “life satisfaction” was significant between grades. (8) The relationship between family leisure satisfaction and parent-child dependence and life satisfaction and the relationship between parent-child dependence and life satisfaction were significantly positive. Based on the above findings, this study proposed conclusions and suggestions as a reference for recent immigrants in implementing parental education, education authorities in providing life counseling, and future research.
