The Children of Taiwanese Businessmen in the Coastal Area in China Adapt to School Life, Using Jhong Jheng Elementary School Located in Kinmen County for example. / 大陸沿海地區臺商子女至金門就學學校生活適應情況之研究-以金門縣中正國民小學為例

碩士 / 銘傳大學 / 公共事務學系兩岸關係與安全管理碩士在職專班 / 100 / The purpose of this research is to explore how the children of Taiwanese businessmen in the coastal area in China adapt to school life, using Jhong Jheng Elementary School Located in Kinmen County for example. Jhong Jheng is this researcher’s workplace. The study is based on qualitative method and interviews fifteen cases, their peers as well as thirteen homeroom teachers. Auxiliary analyzed documents and classroom observations are attached.
In order to obtain complete and meaningful information, the researcher analyzed the school life of Taiwanese Businessmen’s children with five different viewpoints including self adaptation, learning adaptation, regulation adaption, interpersonal skill and teacher-student interaction. The conclusion is as follows:
1. Self adaptation
(1)Taiwanese Businessmen’s children can adapt to life well, and aren’t influenced by their statuses.
(2) Taiwanese Businessmen’s children can develop various interests due to the great learning environment.
2. Learning adaptation
(1)These cases show no difference in their school work, even though they should an advantage in studying since they have the experiences of being educated in Taiwan, Hong Kong or Mainland China.
(2) Taiwanese Businessmen’s children show no difference in schoolwork and learning attitude when compared to Kinmenese students.
3.Taiwanese Businessmen’s children show no difference in regulation adaption.
4.Taiwanese Businessmen’s children have good interaction with teachers, and their status is not the main reason that affects teacher’s educational attitudes towards them.
5.Taiwanese Businessmen’s children have good interaction with peers and are not ostracized.
According to the above research, related suggestions can be used for the following organizations or personnel’s reference: Government organizations, educational institutions, teachers, Taiwanese businessmen and future research projects.
