The Comparison of Operation System for the Female Police Officers across the Taiwan Straits- in case of the female police officers in Taipei and Shanghai / 兩岸基層女警勤務制度之比較–以臺北市與上海市女警為例

碩士 / 銘傳大學 / 公共事務學系兩岸關係與安全管理碩士在職專班 / 100 / In recent years, due to the awakening of the awareness of gender mainstreaming in both sides, women''s rights groups and related academics and enthusiasts actively promote to publish the “Law of the People''s Republic of China on the Protection of Women''s Rights and Interests” and the “Act of Gender Equality in Employment” one after another, and the police recruitment planning adjusted the gender set to fully eliminate the gender quota, so the policewomen posts are greatly increased. On strategic perspective, it’s in name of gender equality. However, it is still worthy of discussion whether female police in both sides have been well prepared and their attitude adjustment. In response to the changes in work roles, the way women served as police work will be different from the division mode of the traditional gender role expectations. I believe that sex is not simply divided into male and female, either equality is a simple view of block style or foothold. Instead, female police officers and male ones must have the same ability so that can stand on the first line to maintain social order and to reach the duties and operations assigned by the superiors. In short, it is an extremely noteworthy subject that wherever female police officers live in, they can be free to survive, express and pursue development.
This article studies the subject of the policewomen at the grass-roots level who serve in Taipei and Shanghai police station, and chooses five in each station, total number 10 to conduct depth interviews. Then combined related literature about police service systems in both sides, and through in-depth analysis on the promoted table of active interviews and compare them, and thus to understand the similarities and differences of policewomen duties and operations in both sides.
This study found that, Taiwan and mainland China''s political systems are different, therefore, though there are some similarities in police duty systems in both sides, they are also very different, and there are inevitably differences in policewomen duty systems. The main difference is manifested in duty contents, proportions, duty arrangements, cognitive in the existing duty system, and career development prospects of the policewomen in both sides.
