Supply Chain Management Models of Portable Navigation Devices / 可攜式車用導航裝置供應鏈管理模式

碩士 / 國立勤益科技大學 / 工業工程與管理系 / 100 / Reviewing the history of portable navigation devices (PND), PND was not widespread by 2003 because the high unit price and interference of satellite signal due to the policy of U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). The positioning accuracy was controlled. Most of the vehicles equipped with navigation devices were installed by the original manufacturers in factory. However, PND became popular because the improvement of PND product and the reduction of average unit price. And the ceasing of DOD to the interference of satellite signal made PND become a massive product between 2004 and 2005.
In recent years, PND market has become more mature, and the trend of its price is getting lower. However, the shipment volume can only be maintained or even reduced. In the era of micro-interests, how to reduce expenses is as important as how to reduce costs. In this study, the main context is about the investigation of supply chain process of PND and the simulation of entire supply chain process considering the cost minimization by using software- the LINGO. By constructing a mathematical model and set the goal to solve the minimal total cost, managers can have references based on simulation of different situations and various conditions.
