The Pilot Study on a Glove-Based Hand Language Voice Interpretation System / 即時手語口譯系統之初探

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 工程科學系專班 / 100 / In this thesis, we match external sensor with a low-power MSP430 chipset, to identify the motion of palm and fingers. In addition, it will broadcast the detected data to the users via sound. Through the clear identification of the palm and fingers, we can apply the usage on various HMI (human machine interface) devices. For instance, we can use voice-assisted system of the glove with gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer and bending detection to control electrical appliance.
We don’t use PC systems and without communication line to do a voice assistant support .Due to advantage of low power consumption of the embedded battery system, the device can prolong the usage duration. With soft PVC leather material design, the gloves have the advantages of water-proof and deformation free. Furthermore, with design of internal feather, it doesn’t only help users to take off the glove easily but also prevent deformation and failure due to repeatedly removal. In order to protect FLEX SENSOR effectively, we adopt double-sides of plastic PC board to avoid bending and fracture. Since Flex Sensor is the most expensive vulnerable part in this system, the engineering method can increase stability of the system. Finally, with design of this system, we expect to improve quality and increase convenience in people’s life.
