碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 工業設計學系碩博士班 / 100 / Taiwan yacht builders has been dedicated in creating luxury yachts with great performance for years, and providing interior customization service to attract customers by building a unique luxury yacht based on personal needs. However, to provide interior customization service, the communication between customer and interior designer can be a complex and repeatedly procedure. To prevent the iterative situation of customer asking to change the layout design, we need to assist customers to evaluate which kind of layout designs is what they really want at the very beginning of interior customization design.
Therefore, we modularized the layout designs and implemented a visualization system for designer demonstrating yacht space layout samples to customers. With this visualization system, customers can see the details of yacht space layout in an engaging and interactive way, realizing what they really want for the space layout based on their functional needs, and discuss further detail design issues with interior
designer. To implement this visualization system, we used ISM (Interpretive Structural Modeling) for screening layout samples from top 20 yacht builders, create 3D models with 3ds MAX software and develop interactive functions with Unity3D game engine in C# language. The system evaluation is mainly on finding usability problems, done by twenty users with a series of usability engineering
methods and sum up with a list of suggestions for system improvement.
