Decoupling Indicators to Assess the Development Status of Solar Yacht / 脫鉤指標評估太陽能遊艇發展現況

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 海洋科技與事務研究所 / 100 / The purpose of this study was to evaluate the energy intensity, CO2 intensity, CO2 emission coefficient and price when the energy of a solar yacht was equal to that of a diesel yacht. In this process, OECD and Tapio decoupling indicator analyses were used.
Regarding the energy intensity and CO2 intensity, decoupling factors were about 1, which revealed an indicator of decoupling and a strong decoupling pattern. This was because the carbon trading established caused the energy consumption of the solar yacht to be lower when energy growing and CO2 emissions were significantly lower than those of the diesel yacht. Regarding the CO2 emission coefficients, the results were decoupling and expansive coupling, which were in the third quadrant. This means that the CO2 emissions of the solar yacht still have range for improvement.
Regarding the price, the solar and electric yacht were more expensive than the diesel yacht when their energies were the same. The yearly cost of the diesel yacht, however, equated to those of the electric yacht and the solar yacht in the second and fourth years, respectively. Furthermore, the cost of the diesel yacht meant that a new one could be purchased after four years.
We can see the solar yacht not only has the advantage in air pollution, diesel pollution, noise pollution and energy consumption, but is also possibly lower in price in the future.
