Study on Image Story in Visual Arts Instructions─ A Case Study of The Lower grades of Hai-Chian Elementary School in Taichung / 影像故事融入國小視覺藝術教學之研究─以臺中市大安區海墘國民小學低年級為例

碩士 / 國立新竹教育大學 / 人資處美勞教學碩士班 / 100 / The focus of this study is how to adapt image story into visual art instructions of lower grades in elementary schools; we expect that adapting image story in visual art instructions brings more learning fun for the students and extend students’ learning depth and breadth. Subjects of this study are: (1) study on the value of image story in visual arts instructions of elementary schools, (2) design practical visual arts instruction courses with image story for elementary school lower grades, (3) evaluate the feasibility of applying image story into visual art instructions of elementary school lower grades, and (4) according to our implementation results, propose for future visual art instructions of elementary school lower grades.
This study uses the documentary analysis and action research approaches. The objects are grade-2 students.
Conclusions of this study are summarized as the followings:
(1) The Image story causes students resonance and learning fun.
(2) Starting from the students’ life experiences, the students realize art exists everywhere.
(3) The students develop the capability of sense and realization of image thinking.
(4) The students can create their own roles in the story. This kind of capability makes their imagination richer.
(5) Encouraging the students to admire successful stories grows the students’ confidence in art creation.
(6) The students learn and establish good personalities through the discussion of the image stories’ scenarios, events, and roles’ behaviors.
(7) We develop the students dare to explore and try things new, and conclude that adaption of image story in visual arts instructions is practical.
Finally, we propose our suggestions for devising courses, practical teachings, school’s policies, and future studies based on our results.
