Removal of Methyl Blue from Aqueous Solution Using Waste Diatomite and Earth Diatomite / 廢矽藻土與純矽藻土移除甲基藍之研究

碩士 / 國立宜蘭大學 / 環境工程學系碩士班 / 99 / Dyes, such as methyl blue can affect human health and result in coloring problems when released as wastewater. Furthermore, methyl blue wastewater can harm ecological systems and cause wastewater emission problems. The removal or absorption of methyl blue(MB) was tested using spent diatomite(SD) and earth diatomite(ED).
The ED sorption isotherms of MB were both well described by Langmuir sorption isotherm and Freundlich sorption isotherm. Under the steady-state reaction conditions, the Gibb free energy (△G°) ranged from -28.8 to -20.2 kJ mol-1 and △H° was -7.29. And that the SD △G° ranged from -21.7 to -19.5 kJ mol-1 and △H° was 0.32. Activation energy of MB sorption calculated ED and SD from Arrhenius equation were 0.67 kJ mol-1 and 15.9 kJ mol-1, respectively. This indicating that the binding between ED and MB or SD and MB was a physical sorption.
The one-dimensional convective dispersive model and Thomas equation were successfully described the transport behaviors of MB in fixed-bed column. The ED and SD dispersive coefficients were 1.42×10-6 and 2.64×10-6 m2 S-1, respectively.
