碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 海事資訊科技研究所 / 100 / The design and analysis of computer aided drawing (CAD) find wide engineering applications in many interdisciplinary fields. The ship model used in this study was established through a computer aided design (CAD) tool. The present work investigates the six degrees of freedom utilizing on a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) package to simulate the ship hydrodynamics. The results obtained through the CFD are used to design the animation by virtual reality software. 3D ship model is established through the software of AutoCAD and Inventor, the developed model is subsequently applied to the analysis of ship hydrodynamics utilizing on a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and Quest3D package. Considering the increasingly large output data, the establishment of all kinds of 3D ship’s databases is necessary in order that we be capable of searching quickly the related data in the ship’s database. In this study, we will develop the search engine by Visual Basic programming language as a useful and efficient tool to quickly find the data through the database.
