Positioning Simulation of a Towed Underwater Cable-Body System / 水下拖纜系統之定位模擬

碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 造船及海洋工程研究所 / 100 / As the development of marine industry and ocean energy are future trends, the Underwater Cable-Body System is one of important methods to discover new energy, by which the accurately underwater positioning could be obtained in a steady state. The objective of this study is to investigate the equilibrium of an underwater cable towed by a ship straight ahead or turning in a circular path. A three-dimensional Newton's method and Runge-Kutta numerical method are used to compute and simulate the dynamic behavior of the towed underwater cable. The different theory, in this research for the same simulation as the referenced papers, is used to prove the reliability of my research. In this study, the cable, regarded as a perfect flexible and inextensible slender structure, has two end points, one is upper tow point towed and moved in a straight or circular path and the other is body point attached by a body. When the dynamic behavior of the moving cable, governed by the equilibrium equations and towed with proper speeds and radii, is analyzed, the position of the end point is the emphasis on this research, including vertical depth, the radii and phase angles of the body point.
