Experimental Analysis of Turbulent Flow in an Internal Finned Tube / 內鰭管紊流流動之實驗分析

碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 輪機工程研究所 / 100 / This study is mainly to investigate the thermal as well as hydrodynamic characteristics of turbulent flow in an internal finned-tube heat exchanger. Employing smooth, four-fin, six-fin, and eight-fin tubes, a double pipe heat exchanger with counterflow arrangement is made for the hot water and cold water which serve as the inner and outer working fluids in the test. The hot and cold bathing constant-temperature reservoirs are used to control the inlet temperatures of the hot and cold fluids. The steady-state temperature and pressure differences are recorded as the working fluids are pumped through the test unit. In addition, the Nusselt number and friction factors, equivalent to pressure drop, are presented for different Reynolds numbers. It is shown that the heat transfer characteristics and friction factor of the exchanger with fins are larger than those with smooth tube. The more the fins are used, the larger the heat transfer rate and pressure drop will be. However, the increase in friction factor is insignificant.
