Development of Demand Model for An Intercity Rail System-A Case Study of THSR / 城際運輸需求模型之探討─以台灣高鐵為例

碩士 / 國立高雄第一科技大學 / 運籌管理研究所 / 100 / The objective of the study is to conclude an intercity transportation demand fuction that include the intercity transportation demand behavior and based on a variety of transportation demand fucttion. According to the literature to identify the impact of passengers aboard the principal factors of public transport and intercity transportation demand model, use the operational information (includes a monthly travel demand, fares, and operating schedules) from Taiwan High Speed Rail consecutive excluding holidays empirical data to learn more about the fare, in-vehicle
time and average waiting time in the short, medium and long-distance relationship between various factors and demand.
In this study, the eventual establishment of intercity travel demand model is cubic curve model, the independent variables include fare, in-vehicle travel time and the average waiting time and they are all significantly. Between sensitivity of short-distance, medium-distance and long-distance, travelers in the medium-distance are sensitive to higher fares and are sensitive to highest-vehicle travel time in long-distance and also are sensitive to average waiting time in the long-distance.
Concequently, the demand function can provide the transportation industry thinking and adjust the existing ways of operating, when the operator wants to adjust fares or service model, this function can reflect to know how changes in demand for policy adjustment.
