碩士 / 國立高雄第一科技大學 / 運籌管理研究所 / 100 / Order picking is not only one of the most crucial tasks, but also the most expensive of warehouse operations costs in a distribution center. Therefore, improving picking efficiency is a critical benefit in distribution center operations. Because of the popularity of the Internet and growth of electronic commerce, B2B has been transformed to B2C. The order type has been changed so that large numbers of small quantities have transformed into small numbers of large quantities in the distribution center. This will increase the cost of processing and packing each order. How to improve picking efficiency and minimize packing cost is, therefore, an important issue.
The study explores the condition of the lowest packaging costs and shortest travel distance in order to improve the order processing and picking efficiency. We propose the model that revises the sequence order picking and batch picking for large numbers of small quantities in the B2C distribution center, and called it the economical picking and packing policy. This policy considers container selection, loading configuration, batch dismantling, and picking path at the same time. Simultaneously, we presented the important argument regarding that container selection and batch dismantling must be considered together to avoid different batches of goods in the same container, and ensure that the goods have been assigned in different batches. Finally, a multiple container loading problem is provided for a cosmetic distribution center and LINGO mathematical programming software to solve the batch picking path. In addition, the result is shown by using AutoCAD to draw the goods loading into the container, showing that it is effective for the decision model.
