Reading Comprehension of Elementary School Pupil’s on Coral With Various Texts Formations / 不同的編排形式的科學文本對中年級學童閱讀理解之研究-以珊瑚教材為例

碩士 / 國立屏東教育大學 / 數理教育研究所 / 100 / The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of reading different forms of science text on coral.There are two different forms of science text one is the original,and another is to rewrite with Systemic Functional Linguistics(SFL).In order to understand the change of the subject’ on this topic,a reading comprehension test(RCT) was redacted.
424 subjects at fourth grades are from high urbanization, in urbanization and low urbanization town in Kaohsiung.This study was the Quasi-experimental study.To compare the effect of reading between these two groups,statistical methods, such as “t-tese” “Analysis of Variance”and “One-Way ANOVA”, were used.The major findings are as follows:
1. The effect of reading was the rewrite better than the original.To compare the subjects progress in cognitive level and contents of the concept,the rewrite was better than the original,except “understand” of cognitive.
2. There was no interaction between degree of urbanization and text,but degree of urbanization was affected the effect of reading.In “all” ”understand” “apply”,the result of high urbanization was better than in urbanization,and in urbanization was better than low urbanization.In “remember”,there was no difference between high and in urbanization.
3. The subjects read text by word and picture together.The subjects think that the picture in text can help them understand content better.
Finally,the researcher proposed some suggestions for teachers, text writers and researchers for further study.
