A Study on the values and attitudes of elementary teachers in Kaohsiung city –Green transport as an example / 高雄市國小教師對都市生態永續發展的價值觀與態度之研究-以綠色運輸為例

碩士 / 國立屏東教育大學 / 生態休閒教育教學碩士學位學程 / 100 / The purpose of this study was to explore the elementary teachers'' current values and attitudes of ecological sustainable urban development in Kaohsiung city and the differences between background variables on values and attitudes of ecological sustainable urban development. This study also inquired the correlation of values and attitudes of ecological sustainable urban development.
The questionnaire was to collect the data from the teachers in pre-merger Kaohsiung city. The instruments applied in this study included “Values of ecological sustainable development Inventory”, “Attitudes of ecological sustainable urban development Inventory”. 550 questionnaires were sent out. 543 questionnaires were returned. 519 questionnaires were effective. Effective questionnaires return-ration was 82%. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way Anova , Scheffe''s post-hoc comparison and canonical correlation analysis by SPSS for Windows 12.0 .
The findings indicated as follows:
1. The elementary teachers in Kaohsiung city got high achievements on Values of ecological sustainable urban development Inventory. The samples have tendencies of the ecological environmental paradigm on the values of ecological sustainable urban development.
2. The elementary teachers in Kaohsiung city got high achievements on the attitudes of ecological sustainable urban development. The samples have positive tendencies of attitudes on ecological sustainable urban development based on green transport.

3. The different background variables of teachers’ values in Kaohsiung city have significant differences on ecological sustainable development in 3 aspects: ages、teaching experiences and spontaneous participation in relevant workshop programs and activities.
4. The different background variables of teachers’ attitudes in Kaohsiung city have significant differences on ecological sustainable urban development in 3 aspects : ages、teaching experiences and spontaneous participation in relevant workshop programs and activities.
5. Through canonical correlation analysis, the study found out that the 3 aspects of values of ecological sustainable development have positive correlation to the 3 aspects of attitudes of ecological sustainable urban development. The lower degrees of the teachers’ values of ecological sustainable development are, the less spontaneous attitudes of ecological sustainable urban development are.
